Collecting ODBC trace logs

Only do this if OffiSign-In support asks you to. It records extra detail about the ECLIPSE connection.

  1. Close OffiSign-In.
  2. Press Windows+R and run C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. This is the 32-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator, which is the one OffiSign-In uses.
  3. On the System DSN tab, double-click OffiSignInEclipse, or ECLIPSE if OffiSignInEclipse isn't listed.
  4. Click Options>>, tick c-tree Plus Debug, and click OK. Note the folder shown as Data Dictionary Path in this DSN's setup: ctodbc.log is written there. With ECLIPSE client/server, the connection uses a different driver that has no such option: skip this step, and the ctodbc.log file below.
  5. On the Tracing tab, note the Log File Path, or type one in, and click Start Tracing Now.
  6. Start OffiSign-In and use it until the error appears. Send the error report when it's offered.
  7. Email support the trace file (from the path you noted) and ctodbc.log from the Data Dictionary Path folder. For OffiSignInEclipse that's C:\ProgramData\OffiSign-In\DSN\. The file appears within a minute of OffiSign-In connecting; if it isn't there, that folder may not be writable, so tell support.
  8. Afterwards, untick c-tree Plus Debug and click Stop Tracing Now. Tracing slows everything down.
